Binfire is an online project management and collaboration application designed to allow small to medium sized teams the ability to manage their online work with ease. Teams can plan, communicate, collaborate, coordinate and monitor their projects efficiently. Binfire offers both free and paid plans – the free plan is limited by number of users in the project, number of projects and storage.

To date, Binfire has been used to manage over 14,645 projects, and their clients include – Stanford University, Northwestern University, Caterpillar, Teva, and Bristol-Meyers Squibb.

This application is touted as a new kind of working space in a virtual environment, where people can connect with each other from various parts of the globe, communicate, to work towards the completion of their project. Binfire can support many different project management methodologies, including Scrum, Agile, Waterfall, and work-breakdown structure.

Let’s take a look at some key features of this cloud based application for project management:

  •  The Burndown Chart is a great reporting tool, allowing managers to quickly determine whether projects and tasks are on schedule and letting them determine how far behind or ahead a project has become. It also informs users how many resource hours remain on any given project.
  •  With the whiteboard feature, they help teams collaborate like they are in the same room. Where they can brainstorm effectively, and all the information shared there gets saved so you don’t have to miss a thread of the conversation.
  •  The Gantt chart enables you to apply changes to the task title, timeline, and so on. The project view is in constant flow so you will see these changes automatically flow through to the task levels.
  • Status Report gives users 140 characters to post Twitter like status updates and add comments to others, great way to communicate with coworkers.
