A URL Shortening Service For Social Media

TinyURL is a free URL shortening service that’s fast and easy to use. No need to sign up as you can have your long url shortened in seconds right on the site. It works very similar to Bitly and is ideal for use on Twitter which has a character limit of 140 only for every tweet.

This is also helpful if you want to hide your affiliate link when sending email campaigns, tweets or when posting status updates on Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn among other social media sites.

Another use of the TinyURL service is in redirecting a page in your site. Again it will shorten your page’s url but will still direct a visitor to the right page.

To use this online tool, simply go to the site and on the blank box provided, put the URL or long link you want to shorten. Then click the Make TinyURL! button on the right and instantly, your new and shortened URL will be provided on the next page that displays.

You can check the link afterwards by clicking on the shortened URL to make sure that it directs to the correct page.
